My Hair Story

Hello Earthlings!

Today, I will be talking about my hair story which I posted earlier about. Its a sad one. Sigh. Sad because I am very much fussy when it comes to my hair and when I see a decline in them, my heart skips a beat. Back a few months ago when I was observing Ramadan, I fell ill in the last Ashrah (Last 10 days of Ramadan) and was confined to the bed; unable to even carry off a normal paced conversation let alone the idea of walking.

I don’t usually fall ill, but when I do I make sure I shake up my whole Khandaan (clan) and gets laid for about a month or so. *wicked grin*
Yes, I have this weird thing with me. Back in 2012, I severally fell ill and literally shaken up my entire family because of zero signs of recovery. I remember how my sisters left off their homes and came in to look after me. I remember my mother and sister parading my school for some kind of assistance because my illness led me to miss my O’level final examinations. And trust me when I say, I did not like what was happening. Being a family person, all that hustle and emotional trauma my family were going through distressed me the most. Perhaps, that’s what took a toll over me and I took a heck a lot of time to recover. All thanks to the Almighty, I did recover but after almost a month. However, missed my examinations and lost my confidence for quite a time.

In both of these periods of illness, one thing which came as common was excessive loss of hair. I, by the God’s grace, pretty much own long and healthy hair but if I fall ill, hell breaks loose on my hair first. They get reduced to a few strands and I literally struggle with my wits post hair loss. To me, my hair is a source of confidence and seeing them falling short saddened me like crazy. I just don’t feel good and feel rather cranky if something goes wrong with my hair.

So, what came at my rescue?

Well, 2 simple concoctions changed the game. The tables turned and I pretty much started recovering my hair. ^_^

One out of the two is already on my blog. I shall link it up for you guys HERE. It is a very simple DIY which hands down would prove to be extremely beneficial for your hair. Give it a go and thank me later  in the comments section or at Instagram 😉

The second is a blend of few oils that I am using to overcome the hair loss post my Ramadan illness. It consists of Almond oil, Castor oil and Black seed oil. Below are the three brands I use.

mundial-100-pure-almond-oilAlmond oil has nutrients that help control the hair loss. It is rich in magnesium, zinc and strengthening  vitamins that contributes to a healthy hair growth and guards your hair from falling.
black-seed-front-2Black seed oil (Kalonji), is derived from Black Cumin or Latin name “Nigella Sativa” which is known as “seed of blessing” in Arabic culture. Moreover, the Prophet (P.B.U.H) is reported to have said ,”There is healing in Black Cumin for all diseases except death.” (Sahih Bukhari 7:71:592). Rubbing hair with this strengthens the hair follicles, hence resulting in healthier, shinier and strong hair.
castoroilNearly everyone must be aware of the benefiting properties of Castor oil. It is a widely used oil in this universe, especially as an eyelash serum. This is an all rounder guys! It helps you have richer and darker hair, also prevents split ends as well as hair fall.

Imagine when you mix these three oils. Guys, a wonder is bound to take place!!! It did happen in my case and I am sure, it would in your case too.

Just mix equal proportions of all the three oils. Heat them up for 30 seconds and massage into your scalp. Leave it overnight and rinse as usual. For optimum results, I suggest doing it at least twice a week.

This was my story, what is yours? Share with me 🙂

Summer DIY!

Summer is that kingdom, of which Karachi is the king!
And I was a happy commoner residing within it until the  King declared war with its own people, defying the love and loyalty we have always had to offer. 😦

My slogan: Beat the Heat!
Their slogan: Heat shall prevail!

During the face-off on the battle ground, they started shooting their oily missiles, but fear not friends; I outnumbered them! 😉

Here, I bring you one strategy to combat the opponent if any such thing happens to you :).
egg

Grab an egg, separate the whites from the yolk and  apply the whites evenly onto your face. Let it dry. Apply a second layer and again leave it to dry. After you have applied the third layer and that too has dried, wash it off thoroughly with water. And voila, the victory shall be at your feet ;). You will slowly experience a reduced oil-skin and upon application twice a week, a drastic change shall be evident.

I hope this helps you out and you get your due rights like me :D. Please do share your experiences in the comment section with me!

Love you all!

It’s All About Almond Oil!

Hey everyone,

All these years, I have been on the run for that perfect moisturizer that gets my skin smooth and non-flaking. I have a skin that gets super oily in summer and super dry in winters; it gets dry to such an extent that it starts to come off as flakes and gives that tacky eek if I apply anything on my face.

That’s when the Almond Oil came down as an angel! 🙂 Below is the picture of what I use:

Mundial’s 100% Pure Almond Oil.

Previously, the use of almond oil was only limited to hair, but about a month ago I started using it on my face as a moisture every night and the results were phenomenal.
My skin got back to normal, felt soft and smooth. I visibly noticed a clearer skin and an even skin-tone too. I have a few spots on my chin that my zits left, and this almond oil is doing a fairly good job in clearing them; they are much lighter now. ^_^

Almond oil works well for me for both hair and skin. In fact, I highly recommend it as a moisturizer and I am sure it won’t at all disappoint you!

Some essential tips:
-Make sure your face is properly cleansed before you apply it as a moisturizer.

-Do not use bitter almond oil for its purpose is of only scent or flavour. For therapeutic purposes, it is sweet/pure almond oil, which does the job.

If you give it a shot, do share your experience with me in the comments section below lovelies. 🙂

Much love,
Zk.

The Toothpaste Wonder

Hello everyone,

A big virtual hug to y’all!!!

It’s been a bumpy week for me. My dear aunt’s wedding is just around the corner and here I got myself into the trap of zits! 😦

f0cd9cd7076ff4544118d24ee4615516I had gotten one on my left cheek and one on my chin *yikes*! And that’s when the toothpaste wonder happen.

Yes, you heard it right! It’s the toothpaste and not the power-puff girls which saved the day 😀

I was whining to my friend when she told me this ever-so wondrous remedy and the moment it worked for me, I was like *I got to share this on my blogggg!*

So yeah, whenever you happen to encounter these nasty zits, just dab a pea sized amount of toothpaste over it and leave it overnight. The next morning you’ll wake up and boom! You will notice it visibly shrank and redness-free. You can wipe it off with a damp cotton ball. Repeat it for a few days till you notice it completely disappeared.

It worked for me and I hope it works for you too :). Do let me know your experiences in the comments section below.

Much love,
Zk.

DIY time!

Hello lovelies,

Well, today I am going to bring up something that y’all will surely thank me for.

Finding that perfect blend of make-up fixer is nearly every make-up lover’s dream. So here, without wasting even a second, I bring you one!

Things you will need:

  • Rose water
  • Glycerin
  • A bottle with nozzle

How to prepare and use:

Well, it is certainly no rocket science! All you have to do is fill the bottle half-way through with rose water. Add 2-3 drops of glycerin. Shake well and voila! Ready to use 🙂

Just spray before or after the makeup and let it dry. Make sure to not to spray with the bottle too close to your face for you certainly do not want it all wet. Just a light spray and you are done.

Nugget to remember: You can add 1-2 drops of Vitamin-E oil as this is not only good for your skin, but will extend the product’s shelf life too.

This DIY will not only keep your make-up set for hours, but will also keep moisture locked up in your skin and you will have a nice healthy glow.

So yes, I hope this DIY eases up your life a tad bit. I look forward to hearing the outcomes from you all.

Toodle-oo!
