Revlon Photoready BB Cream – Review

Assalaam-u-Alikum lovelies! 😀

I hope this post finds you all hale and hearty and each of you is having an amazing day.
Since past few days, I am planning to give my blog a major revamp. I just feel there’s something amiss and my sister (the amazing mua, blogger and multimedia artist) further stamped it by pointing out the issues. And they literally caught me off guard. *YIKES*
So yeah, my blog really needs a finishing touch and hey, I’m already on it! Wish me luck…

This happens to every novice blogger… .but hey, people it’s better to be late than never and of course you learn as you grow. And I happen to be in that phase of learning, doing and growing 🙂

Before I change my mind and start writing an entire book over this “Learning With Time Phase”, let’s take you to the Product Review Bandwagon.

Revlon Photoready BB Cream” is what you are going to read about just now.

1…2…3… .Ready Steady……………………………….. .GoOo!!!
😉

It comes in a metallic grey and black tube packaging. With SPF-30, it sure is a jackpot. This for me has a big YES for ladies who have normal to dry skin and as for the ladies with oily skin, if you are eyeing on this or in case it’s on your wish list, my dear, just abort, I REPEAT, abort the mission of going to a make-up booth only to purchase it.

Consistency is just to the point, not at all runny nor too thick. Being a Karachi-ite, where Summers rule, it did not sit well on my skin as I have such an oily skin that you can fry up an egg or some fries if it’s your evening snack time, Duh!. Upon its application, it felt greasy and quite heavy. And, and, and it oxidized badly; did not even last for a mere 4 hours.

I used it in winters, which hardly lasted for a month here in Karachi, *sigh*. It worked perfectly fine then as I get flaky dry in winters. I did not budge for a good 6 hours; yes, it did slide off my T-zone after that. Having said that, did not feel greasy at all as that in summers. Above all, it has this amazing hydrating formula which went really well with my skin.
Ladies, it is super light-weight and evens out your skin-tone. Dewy finish, for which majority of the beauties craves for, is what this gives you.

.If you are up for a soft, natural or no-makeup make-up look, then this is your vehicle for it ;). However, you might have to run for your concealer to hide those nasty blemishes for this does not cover them well enough

Okay, I am short of vocabulary as to how must I define its fragrance. But I can tell you that I kind of dislike it. It gives me wee bit tacky eek. To many, the fragrance doesn’t bother much, but it does bother me a bit. So it’s entirely on an individual’s preference

PROS:
-Lightweight formula
-Super hydrating
-Dewy finish
-Travel-friendly
-SPF-30
-Ideal for Asian skin-tones
-Easy to blend

CONS:
-The fragrance
-Does not manage to cover blemish/spots
-Not meant for oily skin
-Should last for 8 hours at least

Have you tried the Revlon Photoready BB Cream? Thoughts?

See you soon Insha Allah,

Golden Rose Satin Smoothing Fluid Foundation – Review

Assalaam-u-Alaikum lovelies! (Peace be upon you)

Before I dive into the review, I’d love to know the foundations you all have been using and loving lately. Share it in the comments section below 🙂

…And here I present you the “Golden Rose Satin Smoothing Fluid Foundation.”

The Golden Rose is one brand I have been familiar with since forever as my mother and sister were and are ardent users of it. And now I am taking the legacy forward 😀 *clap*

So, Golden Rose is a Turkish brand and this foundation comes in a black packaging, which I have misplaced somewhere, therefore, wasn’t able to photograph it. 😦
Any-hoo, this product has SPF 15 and Vitamin-E. *yay*

My thoughts:

I love the shape of the bottle it comes in. Having said that, I do not like the closing cap for it is too small to handle and uncomfortable (if I make sense). As far as the texture is concerned, it’s gorgeous; the consistency is just apt.

I am shade N-24, and now that I am talking about the range of shades, let me tell you that it has a huge range of shades so there I am quite sure none of you will face that difficulty of unavailability of the right shade ;). Speaking of this, there is one thing common in this range, which is that every foundation has pink undertone. It works fine for me, but like I always say what works for me might not work for you.

Matte is the finish I crave for, and this foundation manages to give that perfect matte finish. My sister quite liked it on me and considering the fact that she is a MUA, if she stamps something, it is a win-win thing for me 😀
I wore this foundation in two very important occasions, and the longevity of this product impressed me. Having worn it without a primer and a setting spray, it managed to last for about 7-8 hours which I find super-awesome, no?

Beauties with oily skin are going to love it. As per my experience, it will not go too well with dry skinned girls.

Application: Thoroughly moisturize your face beforehand. I apply it using a damp sponge and on top of it gives it a light dust of Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder; another product that is my absolute favourite and even raved about in my last post.

Here are some pictures of mine wearing this foundation. These are original; no filter has been used.

Pros:
-Great longevity.
-Matte finish.
-Huge range of shades.
-Game changer for oily skinned lovelies.

Cons:
-If you do not like pink undertone foundations.
-If you find it too drying.
-The closing cap annoys you.
-Not meant for dry skin.

I got mine for 1200PKR from Imtiaz Superstore.

Much love,

Essence All About Matt! Oil-free Make-up – Review

Hi fellow make-upsies ❤

I hope this post of mine finds y’all in good health. The New Year is around the corner, did you guys draw any resolutions? Lemme know in the comments section below 🙂

As for today, let’s get to the point! I am here to share my experience with “Essence All About Matte! Oil-free Make-up.” Woot woot 😀

Well, this product is one of my favourites. Firstly, this product comes in a sleek packaging, which is travel-friendly as well as pocket. The consistency is you can say between cream and liquid, i.e., not so creamy and not so liquid. It manages to provide light to medium coverage , and I love the fact that it is build-able and does not look cake-y. It slightly conceals dark circles or blemishes on the skin but does not cover them completely, so yes, you have to run for your favourite concealor.

Okay, here comes the main part! Don’t forget, I repeat, don’t forget to moisturize your skin well, for it settles in lines or on the dry patches on your skin and gives an uneven, bumpy and cake-y look if not moisturized well. I use the shade 10-matte beige, and I own a combination skin. For me, it manages to last up to 4-6 hours with touch up once a day as it vanishes off my nose and chin :D.It is super easy to blend, gives a nice even matte finish. I use a damp make-up sponge or sometimes a Kabuki brush to apply it.

To sum it up, for a price of 655, I think it is a must-have. this can make up a perfect combo with your favourite setting powder if you’re looking for a daily-wear  or a quick fix if you’re in a hurry to go somewhere.

Pros:
-Pocket-friendly
-Light to medium coverage and is build-able
-Does not get cake-y
-Gives a matte finish
-Easy to blend

Cons:
-Not suitable to dry skins
-It oxidizes after 4-6 hours
-Does not live up to its claim of 12-hour staying power

I got mine from http://just4girls.pk/  for PKR 655. Other than this, it is easily available at all the leading super-stores in Karachi.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend Essence All About Matt! Oil Free Make Up?
Oh yes, definitely!

See you soon,

XO!
