I hope you all are fine and shining bright. As for me, I am drowning in flu and in the pool of medicines. *sigh*
2016 has been a rough year for me. But there is always some light in the dark tunnel and that light was my admission into the university after long stressful days. Phew!
Wish me luck, guys! ❤
And with 2017, I am going to bring you another skin care series in collaboration with Skin18. Previously, it had been quite a satisfying experience. Let’s see how it turns out this time.
This is it, mates! A very Happy New Year 2017 to you all. I hope and pray that happiness and peace prevails. Sending you all lots of best wishes, prayers, love and of course a little fairy dust never hurts. See you real soon Xo!
I hope you all are fit, fine and shining ❤
As for me guys, I am gearing up for my university test. So when you say your prayer, do not, I repeat, do not forget to take my name and pray that I clear it and get through 🙂
And I just realized that I am blabbering. Hehe!
Let’s get to the fulcrum of this post :).
So, I was eager to purchase this because of its name, you know this “Lip Glazed Paint” really attracted me. And I got it :D.
The packaging is glazed, as the name suggests. Also some may find it eye-piercing with that retro touch, if I make sense ^_^. The glossy pink packaging and gold lid makes it easy to identify out of your vanity. I kind of like these sort of packaging, so yeah, I give it full points on that
Just with a paint, you would need several coats of it for that smooth layer. I am not that very happy with the formulation and the train of coats I need to apply for an even layer. At the end, I feel frustrated. Having said that, the color appeal is quite good. The color is very pretty and has the right amount of glossiness.
Coming towards the applicator, I am not at all fond of such slanted applicators. I literally struggle and never ever have I been able to get that perfect lip shape with them. I had to go for a lip brush every time I used this, firstly as it involves quite a few layering and the applicator kind of takes the product away and makes it look patchy and secondly, like I said I could not manage to make the lip shape, in that case, a lip brush saves the day.
Longevity and Scent:
It only managed to last for 2-3 hours. And man, it was disappointing. If you eat or drink a tad bit, it even doesn’t stay up to 2 hours. You would need several touch ups through out your event or whatever occasion.
I have a love and hate relationship with its scent. Sometimes it bothers me and sometimes it don’t. I think here, mood takes the lead, ha!
Speaking of this, it has a minty scent; I also felt a cooling sensation on my lips for a few minutes due to the ingredient Mentha Arvensis (Peppermint) Leaf Oil which did not mind at all.
Price: Rs: 350 from MyGerrys
-Good color pay off
-You dislike the applicator
-You need several coats for smooth finish
-You dislike minty scent and the cooling sensation
Okay… .after much reluctance, hesitation and what not, I finally gave in and consented for a YouTube channel with the sister dearest OR you can say it’s more or less reverse. We both were equally skeptical. And man, I literally had to hop out of my comfort zone to do this. I have never been this transparent, you see.
We came off from a party, and then quickly sat down; as we came back with a pact which said, “No More Procrastination”. We, the camera and guys, our first SHOT! 🙂
It would mean a lot if you guys could go and give a watch to my first video ever and of course like, comment and SUBSCRIBE!
Let me know in the comments section below of what do you think. Any suggestions or feedback is more than welcome. It’s been such a wonderful experience at blogging and I hope I get to have the same with Vlogging as well.
Sneak Peek: Get to know me a little in the video and let’s be friends forever 😀
Well, today I am going to share the most prized possession of mine in this post and that too without any further delay 😛
Post my encounter with the Revlon Photoready BB Cream, I was very skeptical of trying any new BB cream out there. Even if I used to make up my mind that I’d try this certain BB cream, I’d never be able to steer up the courage to purchase one due to sheer skepticism as to how would it turn out upon entering a makeup booth.
Anyhoo, one fortunate night I was randomly browsing through different beauty portals while I came across an article, titled,“The Best BB Cream”, and it literally convinced me to come out of my zone and try some new BB cream products in town. I was drawn to this article considering the extensive research the team at Reviews delved into and out of 106 options, pick-pointed two. The first being, a high-end brand, Dior’s Diorskin Nude BB Creme and second a drugstore, Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Protector.
Since, Dior’s Diorskin Nude BB Creme was out of my budget as well as my geographical range, I decided to FINALLY try the drugstore one, the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Protector. Now, I call it “FINALLY” because it is the second BB cream product after the Revlon one that I have tried. Trust me folks, it really needs a heck of your heart to muster up the courage of trying a new makeup product when you have faced disappointment earlier. Make up freaks… . do we agree on this? 😀
By now, you guys must have deduced the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Protector is that prized possession I was chanting about at the start. There’s hardly been a product to fall in the category of “prized possession of mine”, so you got to stick to this post to know what’s so special about this ;).
Let’s begin the review 🙂
First and foremost, I’d take a moment to tell you guys, that I am an oil factory. Yes. I have a super duper oily skin and this product manages it really very well. Secondly, I am in shade Light/Medium 110 out of the 5 shades this range of Maybelline’s BB cream offers.
The consistency is just apt. Not runny at all and aptly creamy. One fact to tick when I was trying it at the makeup counter. 😉
Upon application, it settled as a matte-finish and I kid you not, extremely lightweight. Moreover, it manages to give that natural look to your makeup; very subtle and glow-y.
Lovelies, it won’t give you that greasy feel and is not at all a hassle to blend. Also, it is build-able. Feel free to build it as you please and enjoy your desired coverage; you wouldn’t see it giving a layered appearance.
Speaking of its staying power, it managed to last for about good 6-7 hours. And I think that’s fabulous! Let me tell you guys, environmental aspects play a very big part here. Karachi is super hot nowadays, so this product really does it well here. Also, let me mention, it managed to last this long only after having it powdered.
On top of this, I did not see any oxidation occurring. This wasn’t the case at all with the Revlon Photoready BB cream. So, I hereby, proclaim, Maybelline wins it here.
Fragrance, well, this one factor bothers me a bit. This proved to be a major downside for me in the case of Revlon Photoready BB cream. However, when it comes to Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream, thank god, it has a fragrance free formula :).
The only downside to this product is the exaggeration with regard to eight skin benefits (blurs imperfections, evens skin-tone, enhances, etc.) as I believe this can be fulfilled by most of the products out there in the market. Also, you have to run for your concealer to hide those awful blemishes and darkness under your eyes.
As for this, let’s do a round up to see whether or not it fulfills the claims it swears by:
Blurs Imperfections: Yes! Enhances: Defos! Brightens: Well, yes! You wouldn’t experience an orange cast or that pinky undertone. Adjusts to Skin Tone: Not really. Smooths: Yes, it does even out. Hydrates: Certainly! Dry skinnies would also enjoy it. SPF 30 Protection: Nah! Do not solely depend on this. 0% Oils and Other Heavy Ingredients: Thumbs up! Didn’t feel heavy or greasy as mentioned before.
Here’s me sharing my pictures with you wearing this product on two different occasions. Had it not been Reviews.com‘s research, I would not have been enjoying these pictures of mine and you guys, this elaborated review guide ;).
-Ideal for oily skin
-Does not cover blemishes
-Limited shade range (5 only)
I got mine from Just4girls.pk for PKR 799. At such a price, this product is a STEAL!
Do you own Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Skin Perfector? What are your thoughts on this? Do you prefer it over the Revlon Photoready BB cream? Share it in the comments section below :).
Product Characteristics:SOC Rice Wine Mask sheet with active ingredients from three different types of ancient rice that moisturizes, nourishes and firms skin from within the intensive mask process.
My experience: I, before applying it, kept it in the refrigerator for about 15-20 mins for that cool effect. After cleansing, I put this on in alignment to the contours of my face and popped in my favourite movie to relish the mini-spa therapy.
After straight 30 mins, I, after making sure, that my skin has fully absorbed the serum, put the mask off. In my view, this mask is not meant for ladies with oily skin. I have an oily skin, and this mask did not suit me at all as I noticed a greasy film all over my face. Moreover, my skin felt a bit sticky which wasn’t the case at all with the Fresh Fruit Avocado Real Natural Mask Pack I used mentioned in my SKIN18 series review earlier.
Also, I felt a sudden urge to wash my face due to the stickiness and tacky eek I constantly felt after its usage. Having said that, I am sure this SOC 3D Beauty Serum Face Mask Pack (Rice Wine Sheet Mask) will definitely go well with the ladies with dry skin. It’s super hydrating and moisturizing, which I on my skin felt a bit overboard. So yeah, dry skinned beauties, this one’s for you :).
-Sheet masks are easy to handle and use
-No rinse needed
-If you have dry skin, you’ll love it
-If you have oily skin, it isn’t meant for you.
-Oily skin ones might feel the urge to rinse off the residue
Until next time girls, From me to you, With love ❤
I know many would have used it by now and reached their verdict. But this has just started to get common in my city Karachi, and after usage, I really don’t agree with the hype and hoopla.
Micellar Water, a concept, making its path all the way from France, got its fair share in many vanity boxes and regular skincare regime, but to be really straight it did not impress me much *sigh*.
Well, so what exactly is Micellar Water?
It is water infused with tiny oil molecules, known as micelles, which zaps up dirt and impurities off the skin. Basically, it is a skincare practice which acts as a make-up remover, cleanser, and toner all packed in one. As other make-up removers, generally, involves rinsing as part of regime, using micellar water does not.
Hmm, so friends, I have been using this bud for about a month now, and sadly it hasn’t made to my favourites, unlike for many girls out there. Firstly, it stung my eyes and secondly, it gives a really hard time whilst removing mascara.
Yes, it does not involve rinsing for upon usage, it does not leave that greasy film behind, however I do feel the need to wash my face after like an hour or so. I don’t know, but I feel a tad bit of dullness and sweat on my face.
I have been very happy with Garnier Simply Essentials Soothing 2 in 1 Make-up Remover and still do use it, but when it came to the micellar water bandwagon, Garnier still needs to get it right. For me, it does not do the job and isn’t especially meant for eyes as claimed on the bottle for it stung really bad.
-Decent amount at a decent price
-For even sensitive-skin
-It stung eyes
-The need to wash face after an hour or so
I got mine for the price of PKR 420 from Omega Chase. It is readily available at all the leading stores nationwide.
