Keep your eyes out, folks! 😉
17th of July was a day when the creative streak of Pakistan was at its best. This event, The Indie Arts and Crafts had it all; you name it, it had it!
It was organized by The Crafter’s Guild and Firefly at The Royal Rodale Club in Karachi and had crafters from the city and other parts of Pakistan.
This event was a splash of freshness amidst the chaotic happenings and it was a lovely sight to see people gathered for nothing but to radiate good vibes and share the common love or I must say a passion for art and artists. Whilst some stations gave an insight to the attachment with their heritage, some reflected the inner sweet-tooth in their products. From home decor with a cultural touch to mouth-watering desserts, it was all under one roof.
One such sugar craft was Terry’s Treats and I kid you not, it indeed had some heaven variety of pastries and cakes. Me and my sister, not being able to resist the temptation, treated ourselves with their best-seller rainbow themed pastries. *Nom Nom*
In addition to this, Isholicious with their Kheer, Delicacies with their Cupcakes and Fiori Cafe’s chocolates added further sweetness at the event.
Fiori, a special thank you for making my nephew’s day with your chocolates 😀
Moving on, the event had some real organic galore! Yes, my lovelies, it had a variety of organic beauty products with Food For Your Face, Seen Meem Enterprise and HeaLiv at the lead. If you didn’t attend this, you missed a great deal of organic dose! 😛
The event had a wide array of crafts, including an exquisite glass painting collection by Sakina’s and breathtaking portraits from Kamaash. Bollywood had never looked this catchy and lively.
Bisera Jewels, where each piece is designed ‘Once’ especially for you, showcased aesthetic jewelry pieces whilst Zed Mars rocked it with their uniquely carved clutches.
The Tuttie Cuttie Boutique, catering the needs of your little ones, exhibited a twinkly and cutie patootie range of clothing for baby girls. It is the first ever tutu store of Pakistan and everyone out there, including me, was genuinely awestricken. How I wish to get back to my younger days, only to wear these oh-so-pretty dresses :D.
Chic Footwear by Walk About and Bee Flair with their home-made beeswax scented candles variety literally got the crowd crazy.
Not only this, there were demonstrations by crafters held in collaboration with the Craft Circus (visit the link for videos) where onlookers were exposed to the basics of card making and what goes behind the art of ink. It was surely a treat for the novice crafters as it gave them an insight to the world of arts and crafts and a cue to begin with their passions for it.
There is a tonnes of stuff I am missing but just for record, the show had embroidered bed coverings, paintings, ralli art (clutches),ajraks calligraphy, various fashion accessories, magnets, keepsakes and ceramic works as well as quirky truck art. Sara’s Henna, based in Hong Kong, was the talk of the event who brought the White Henna Formula with herself for the very first time in Pakistan.
Well guys, this piece of mine might not be able to do the justice to this event as it deserves but surely Happiness is indeed HANDMADE.
The Indie Arts and Crafts Show was multifaceted in it truest sense as it brought forth and provided a platform to many crafters.
It nurtured talent, celebrated passion and united hearts; all at once.
P.s: All pictures are mine. Those not are labelled. 🙂
Summer is that kingdom, of which Karachi is the king!
And I was a happy commoner residing within it until the King declared war with its own people, defying the love and loyalty we have always had to offer. 😦
My slogan: Beat the Heat!
Their slogan: Heat shall prevail!
During the face-off on the battle ground, they started shooting their oily missiles, but fear not friends; I outnumbered them! 😉
Here, I bring you one strategy to combat the opponent if any such thing happens to you :).
Grab an egg, separate the whites from the yolk and apply the whites evenly onto your face. Let it dry. Apply a second layer and again leave it to dry. After you have applied the third layer and that too has dried, wash it off thoroughly with water. And voila, the victory shall be at your feet ;). You will slowly experience a reduced oil-skin and upon application twice a week, a drastic change shall be evident.
I hope this helps you out and you get your due rights like me :D. Please do share your experiences in the comment section with me!
Love you all!
The town’s ablaze with firefly!!!!
The firefly girl is doing wonders!!!!
The girl who was enthralling all of us with her quirky and creative spark is on the road of making it big in the arena of beauty. Yes you heard it right!
“Food For Your Face” is a venture by the Firefly girl Varah Musavvir which aims to cater girls and women across varying age groups with different types of skin with its all-natural and herbal skin care range. Prepared from natural and wholesome ingredients with essential oils infused in, this range has already managed to get its wing into many vanities in no time.
And I am one of the proud owners of such a vanity 😉
I bought 2 cleansers, namely Crange Maker – touch of cranberries and orange and Magical Mulberry – lovely floral and fruit infused from “The Crazy Cleanser” range and 2 face packs, From Cleo with Love (tuberose) and A Tangerine Affair (citrus pomegranate) from “The Fixer Upper Face Packs” range, each for PKR 650.
If you ask me to rate the two cleansers, I’d rate Magical Mulberry as 1st and Crange Maker as 2nd. Both suited my oily skin, but it was Mulberry who did a fine job; I felt my skin clearer and even with it the most.
I have pigmentation around my mouth area, and with these cleansers I visibly noticed them getting lighter and can see my skin quite even now. I literally felt as if every dirt and impurities has been flushed off of my face. Yay! So a big thumbs up to these crazy cleansers. (y)
Now come the face packs/masks. Well… . My sister grabbed the “Tangerine Affair” before I could get my hands on it so yeah I suggest you guys take a look at her blog to know her experience with it and also her take on the other products HERE.
As for me, I am head over heels over “From Cleo with Love”. I use it with fuller’s earth (Multani Mitti). What I do is mix this face pack with rose water and fuller’s earth, initially, it was an experiment, but now it is something I swear by. I thought it would leave my skin dry, but to my surprise it did not happen at all. It worked perfectly and my skin actually felt moist and revived.
What common among these products is the yummy-licious fragrance! You are absolutely going to love ‘em. The balance is just right. You’ll feel your face radiant , your air afresh and your mood all lightened up. 😀
All in all, the products are finely milled and in my view you are not going to get such a treat of all natural and herbal skin care products in an amount of PKR 650 and that too home-made under extreme care. You can manage the consistency as per your liking; you can use it in so many ways. The firefly girl and Mama firefly’s invention are indeed L A U D A B L E!
P.s: I advise you all to please do a patch test before you begin using them on your pretty faces as what works for me might not work for you.
Love and prayers,
This is me , Mr. Egg and this is my pal Mr. Yogurt and together we can help you achieve your hair goals 😉
Let’s get on with it.
Alongside me and my friend yogurt, all you need is your favourite hair oil, be it coconut, almond or mustard.
What to do:
Mix me up with 2tbsp of yoghurt and 2 tbsp of whatever hair oil you use. Apply the mixture into your hair and leave it up for 15-20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
…And voila!!!!! We give you super soft, shiny and healthy hair 🙂
We thank Zoha for sharing our benefits with you all, please show her some love and support.
